In the Flower Patch ...

Picture
This is our first year growing tulips. We've chosen unusual double and parrot varieties with a bit of wow factor! They are about to come into their prime in the patch this week. 'Angelique', 'Charming Lady', 'Comet', 'China Town', 'Spring Green' and more.

We are watching and waiting for the patch to really spring into bloom in the next month. Alliums, foxgloves, sweet williams and delphiniums are all teasing us with their growing flower buds!

In the Polytunnel ...

Picture
April is a busy month in the polytunnel. It is full of seedlings of varying sizes and shapes. As we plant out more and more of the hardy annuals such as sweet peas, bupleurum, cornflowers and larkspur, the space in the tunnel is refilled with the next succession of sowing; cosmos, salvia, ammi, scabious, sunflower to name a few! We've also got 150 mini lavender plug plants growing on in pots ... the perfect wedding favours for a 2018 summer wedding!

On the Farm ...

Picture
Blossom, catkins, spring buds - what a wonderful time of year for a hedgerow harvest of goodies! We love the fresh colours of new growth on our shrubs and foliage plants at this time of year.

... And of course it's lambing time! Pippa, the shepherdess, has been very busy looking after all the new born lambs and their mums for the last month. Now the fields are full of healthy spring lambs!

Coming Soon ...
